So how do yous nail the perfect banner? It starts with the three basic ones.

Layer on a sheet of marking paper over a sheet of Rhodia graph paper.

It helps keep the lines straight! A ruler works perfectly fine every bit well.

Notation: You'll see I apply different coloured Tombow TwinTone markers, only you can really use any make, even a pencil. I'thousand just using different colours to help differentiate a few of the steps in this tutorial.

Straight Banners

Step i: Describe ii parallel lines

Step 2: Shut off the ends

Footstep three: Describe two sets of parallel lines coming off the rectangle

Step 4: Add the angles edges and close off the shapes

Pace v: Add angled connection

And voila! A very simple, straight banner.

A slight variation with the folds going a different management…

Curved Banners

Notation: Continue the curves to a minimum to avoid your banner looking bad-mannered.

Footstep one: Describe dots in the three spots where your curved line will be and connect it

Repeat Steps 1-5 of the direct banner

Wavy Banners

Step 1: Describe your showtime two parallel lines in a wavy fashion

Stride 2: Shut off the ends (encounter footstep 2, straight banners above)

Stride 3: Draw two sets of parallel lines coming off the rectangle but on reverse sides this time

Echo Steps iv & 5 of the straight banner, above

And for some fancy variation…

Draw a squiggly line rom left to right, catastrophe it with a slight curve downwards.

Draw a squiggly line rom left to right, catastrophe it with a slight curve downwards.

And repeat Steps 2-five of the straight banner above, over again!

Extra Embellishments Time!

How about some evenly spaced lines on those directly banner?

Or, just fill in those under parts with black.

Another selection – some nicely spaced dotted lines, only on the horizontal edges.

And following the curves, you could add in some different length lines equally shading.

And finally, a niggling scrap of both on our fancy wavy banner. Find how the dotted line curves a little with the curved line? Pro hack correct there!
